Straighten Your Teeth (And Smile Confidently)
When you think of braces, you’re probably thinking of a teenage kid rocking a face full of metal on his way to Algebra 1. But despite what you’ve seen on TV and what you remember from your childhood, orthodontics have come a long way, and they’re not just for kids. A straight smile can greatly affect one’s face and has been shown to boost confidence, self-esteem, and in general, make you smile more! You’re never too old to have a great smile, and with orthodontic practices seeing close to a 50/50 ratio of kids to adults, more adults are straightening out their teeth than ever before. So if you have crooked teeth or unsightly gaps, we at Pearl Dental P.C. have many options to get you smiling straight and feeling great.
Invisalign is a straightening process that ditches metal braces for clear aligner trays, which are fit to your mouth and worn throughout the day. Just like braces, these trays shift your teeth into their proper alignment over time, but instead of routine tightening sessions, you’ll simply swap out older trays for newer ones as you continue through the treatment. Invisalign has many benefits, including:
- Eating what you want: While you have to take them out when you eat, you don’t have to avoid foods that could get stuck in your metalwork because you have none.
- They hurt less than braces: Since Invisalign trays are custom fit for your teeth, there are no dreaded tightening sessions.
- Your oral health care stays the same: Instead of having to work around the brackets and metal of braces, you take out the trays for brushing and flossing.
- You don’t draw attention: Perhaps the most important benefit for adults, Invisalign trays may not be technically invisible, but they are transparent and fit snugly over your teeth, making them hard to notice.
Lingual braces are similar to metal braces but applied behind the teeth and out of sight. While they give up something in comfort from other forms of orthodontics, they are almost impossible to see, even upon close inspection. If straightening your teeth without anyone knowing is your primary concern, they are a great option.
Clear Ceramic Braces
Much different than the bulky metal brackets of your adolescent nightmares, clear ceramic braces use clear or tooth-colored braces and a small wire between them, making them very difficult to notice unless you’re very close. And with these ligatures rotated regularly, you don’t have to worry about getting people’s attention by staining them.
Getting a straight smile and the confidence and happiness that comes with it shouldn’t be a gift that is limited to only adolescents. If you’re interested in adult orthodontic options, contact us at Pearl Dental P.C., and we can schedule a consultation today.
